Every three years the global aggregates, recycling, and construction industries converge in Las Vegas for CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, one of the most influential equipment exhibitions in the world. The show serves as a rare opportunity for, aggregate producers, and recycling companies to explore the newest machinery on the market in person and hear directly from the engineers and product specialists responsible for developing said machines.
Throughout the week, the team from Powerscreen Texas based themselves on the Terex stand to help visitors explore the lineup of equipment from across the Terex materials processing brands. Their role at the show was to guide customers through the machines on display, explain application considerations, and connect attendees with factory experts representing Powerscreen, Cedarapids, CBI, and the newly introduced MAGNAline of large-scale crushing and screening equipment. The display reflected a clear industry trend toward higher production machines, improved mobility, and designs that reduce operational complexity while maintaining high output.
World-Leading Machine Options
One of the most talked-about new machines on the stand was the debut of the MAGNA MT130J jaw crusher. The MT130J is designed for large-scale quarrying and mining operations where primary crushing capacity is critical. The machine features a 51” by 39” feed opening powered by a high-capacity single-toggle jaw chamber with hydraulic closed-side setting adjustment. With a production potential of up to approximately 1,120 US tph, the MT130J is engineered to process large volumes of rock while maintaining consistent throughput. The machine weighs roughly 278,000 pounds and measures nearly 72’ in working length, reflecting its role as a heavy-duty primary crusher intended for large operations. One of the more innovative elements of the design is its fully electric drive system, which reduces fuel consumption and mechanical complexity compared with traditional diesel-hydraulic platforms. The crusher is also engineered to be split for transport and reassembled without large cranes, an important consideration for large equipment that may need to move between quarry sites.
Another machine attracting attention on the stand was the CBI 5900T Horizontal Grinder, a high-capacity grinder designed for wood waste recycling, land clearing, and biomass production. The 5900T is powered by a 755-horsepower Tier 4 Final CAT C18 engine and utilizes a 60” wide rotor. Equipment like the 5900T reflects the growing demand for machines capable of processing storm debris, land clearing material, and construction wood waste into usable biomass products. The grinder’s large rotor and optimized material flow allow operators to process wide or irregular material with less pre-processing, increasing efficiency for contractors working in forestry, land clearing, or waste recycling.
The Terex stand also featured the debut of the Cedarapids CRH5064 Portable HSI Plant, the newest wheeled impact crushing plant from the Cedarapids brand. Designed for customers who require high reduction ratios with the flexibility of a portable platform, the CRH5064 combines a large horizontal shaft impactor with an integrated vibrating feeder and grizzly system. The plant’s 50” class impactor and large 64” feed opening allow it to accept larger material while producing high-quality aggregate products in a single pass. Mounted on a wheeled chassis, the plant is designed for rapid relocation between job sites, making it particularly relevant for highway construction, recycled concrete processing, and temporary crushing operations where setup time and mobility are critical factors.
From the mobile crushing lineup, the updated Powerscreen Trakpactor 480SR was also showcased with a new underpan feeder configuration designed to improve material handling when processing recycled materials. The Trakpactor 480SR is a tracked impact crusher equipped with an integrated recirculating screen that allows operators to produce finished material while returning oversized product back to the crusher for further reduction. The addition of the underpan feeder helps manage fines beneath the crusher, improving material flow and reducing buildup that can occur during high-volume recycling applications. This improvement is particularly valuable in construction and demolition recycling environments, where variable feed materials and high fines content can create operational challenges.
Rounding out the crushing lineup was the Powerscreen 1300X Maxtrak, a tracked cone crusher designed for secondary and tertiary aggregate production. Built around a 1300-millimeter, or 51”, cone chamber, the machine is capable of producing up to roughly 400 US tph depending on the application and material characteristics. The 1300X Maxtrak incorporates automated crusher controls and overload protection systems that help maintain consistent product quality while protecting the crusher from uncrushable material. Cone crushers like the 1300X remain a cornerstone of modern aggregate operations, particularly for producers who require tightly controlled finished product gradations for asphalt, concrete, and infrastructure applications.
Why CONEXPO Still Matters
Across the stand, these machines collectively illustrated the direction equipment manufacturers are taking to meet the demands of today’s market. Higher throughput, improved transportability, and greater automation are becoming increasingly important as aggregate producers and contractors seek ways to maximize production while managing labor and operating costs. Throughout the show, the Powerscreen Texas team played an active role on the Terex stand by helping visitors navigate the equipment and connect them with factory engineers and product specialists representing each brand. For many attendees, this direct access to brand experts provided a deeper understanding of how new machine designs translate into real-world production improvements.
For those who could not attend CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, the machines featured on the Terex stand offered a clear snapshot of the innovations shaping the next generation of crushing, screening, grinding, and other material processing equipment. As production demands continue to grow and projects become more complex, equipment like the MAGNA MT130J, CBI 5900T, Cedarapids CRH5064, Trakpactor 480SR, and 1300X Maxtrak demonstrate how manufacturers are evolving their platforms to help customers keep pace with the changing needs of the industry.
